Terry Crews took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to detail a shocking incident of sexual assault that allegedly took place at the hands of a “high level Hollywood executive” at an event last year.
The former football star-turned-actor claims he was standing with his wife when the unnamed man reached out and grabbed his genitals. When confronted, Crews says “He just grinned like a jerk.”
Though one might think the Brooklyn Nine Nine star would be able to easily defend himself further, he felt like he couldn’t because the headlines would write themselves: “240 lbs. Black Man stomps out Hollywood Honcho.”
Crews says he was compelled to come forward with his experience in the wake of allegations of sexually assault and harassment by Harvey Weinstein, empathizing with the many women who have been similarly victimized but remain silent due to fear of repercussions.
Weinstein, a famed Hollywood producer has been accused of victimizing several A-list actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Rosanna Arquette.
