While Drake attained much success for his 2017 release More Life, it appears he won’t be in the race for a 2018 Grammy. The “playlist” has the distinction of being the most streamed project of 2017 with over 1 billion listens, but according to a report from the Associated Press, the Canadian rapper decided not to submit the project for Grammy consideration.
This isn’t a new behavior for the OVO frontman. He skipped the Grammy Awards last year after reports that he and several other prominent names in music, like Kanye West and Justin Bieber, allegedly believed the Grammys had lost prestige and was less attractive to a younger musical audience. Drake, however, appeared and performed at the 2017 Billboard Awards.
CASSIUS will keep an eye on Drake’s moves as we await his presence, or absence, at the Grammys.
