For the past few years, Thursday night on primetime television has been ruled by one phrase: TGIT, aka Thank God It’s Thursday. The popular term is still one of the top trending hashtags every week because of three of Shondaland’s most popular shows: Grey’s Anatomy, starring Ellen Pompeo; Scandal, starring Kerry Washington; and How To Get Away With Murder, starring Viola Davis.
With this being the seventh and final season of Scandal, fans have been sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation of how the show will end. It has repeatedly taken our breath away and given it back throughout the course of six seasons, so what could possibly be next?
Things just got interesting.
Earlier today, Washington posted a photo on Instagram of herself in what appears to be the courthouse setting that belongs to HTGAWM’s top dog, Annalise Keating.
Davis then responded with a picture of herself in Olivia Pope’s favorite house: The White House.
Could there be a major crossover in the works? Could this mean that Annalise and Olivia are joining forces… or bumping heads? These two shows have been the nucleus that holds Black Twitter together on Thursday nights, and the mere notion of a crossover has our fingers itching with anticipation.
ABC has not commented, but this sounds like the perfect sendoff for Scandal to us!
