In hip-hop couple news, it seems as if your favorite GOD MC, Nasir Jones and the Queen of the Barbz, Nicki Minaj have pulled the plug on their short love affair. After just about six months of dating, the two have decided to go their separate ways. Aside from a few Instagram posts and a public appearance or three, the couple hadn’t really given us enough PDA to actually miss them. But we were looking forward to seeing what the future held for the rapping couple. Or at least get a collaboration out of it.
Are we selfish?
Friends of the couple have cited living in different cities as taking the biggest toll on the couple. Nicki currently resides in Miami as she puts the finishing touches on her new album, while Nas stays closer to New York to be hands-on with his label and keep a close eye on his many businesses in the Big Apple, including his popular restaurant chain Sweet Chick.
Word in these streets, is that there is no bad blood between the two and ample respect remains. Both are no strangers to high profile public relationships. People are still upset that Nas and his ex-wife, Kelis broke up after such a fairytale courtship and wedding. And Nicki had her fair share of scrutiny with her very public relationship with rapper, Meek Mill, and after parting ways with a now ever so popular, Safaree Samuels.
