At 41, Sterling K. Brown Proves It’s Never Too Late to Make Your Dreams Come True.

Sterling K. Brown became the first Black man to win Best Actor in a Drama Series during last night’s SAG Awards. The honor comes weeks after the This Is Us star became the first Black man to win a Golden Globe for a TV drama. Last fall, he also became the first Black actor to take home an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series since 1998.

“What a blessing it is to do what you love for a living,” he said. “What an honor it is to be recognized by your peers for a job well done. This room is a source of endless inspiration for me.”

This Is Us also won for best series, and Team CASSIUS couldn’t be prouder.

Aziz Ansari Skipped the SAG Awards, Despite Being Nominated.

No time was allotted for applause after his name was called among the nominees for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, either… not that many folks were cheering for him anyway. According to HuffPost, “there was a notable lack of applause” when his name was announced.

James Franco, who was also recently accused of sexual misconduct, did attend the event, though he opted to skip the red carpet. Franco was nominated for Best Actor in a Movie for The Disaster Artist.

The Senate Will Vote at Noon on Whether to End the Government Shutdown.

Specifically, they’ll vote on a bill to reopen the government. Not too sure how it’s going to go, though. The vote was originally scheduled to take place at 1 a.m. ET Monday, but was pushed back to noon so that those voting would have “a chance to chew” on things. “It’s better to have a successful vote tomorrow at noon than a failed vote tonight,” Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas told CNN. Here’s to hoping it’s successful.
