Carmelo Anthony continues to make power moves both on and off the court. Following his high-profile trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder last summer, the athlete is debuting a new partnership with San Francisco based hat manufacturer Goorin Bros. The collab marks the company’s first co-branded product line with a pro athlete in its 122-year history.
As someone who has admired the craftsmanship of Goorin Bros., teaming up with them was a natural fit.
Establishing himself as a style icon-of-sorts during his years in the Big Apple, Melo’s stand out looks were often complemented by unique headwear. Creating his own line of toppers seemed only right. “As someone who has admired the craftsmanship of Goorin Bros., teaming up with them was a natural fit,” he explains. “This collaboration was a valuable experience being able to be a part of the design process and bringing my creative vision to life. There’s going to be more headwear to come from this partnership. This is just the beginning!”
The limited edition drop, titled “Fresh Greens” features five unique styles ranging from $180 to $300. Melo named each of the looks himself, including our favorite, the Melo Mint, a Springtime fresh topper featuring an open crown with a stiffened brim and green leather sweatband. Each hat is lined with green satin emblazoned with the “Melo x Goorin” logo, Carmelo’s signature and the inscription: “Knowledge of self, wisdom and understanding” and is packaged in an exclusive green and copper foil hatbox.
