Serena Williams Owned Her Comeback Match, Because Of Course She Did.

Serena Williams, who returned to the tennis court after 14 months away, destroyed Zarina Diyas 7-5, 6-3 on Thursday night—and all in the first round.

“It was incredible,” Williams told ESPN after the match. “It’s been over a year and a kid later and I get to go home to her now, and I’m excited about that.”

Hell, we’re excited, too! Welcome back, Queen Williams.

The Obamas May Have a Netflix Series on the Way.

Barack and Michelle Obama are reportedly “in talks” to provide shows for Netflix. According to The New York Times, Netflix would pay the Obamas for exclusive content that, under a proposed deal, would only be available via the streaming service.

“President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire,” Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president, told NYT. “Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.”

Erykah Badu’s New Short Film Has Us Wondering If a New Project’s on the Way.

We’re not sure what to make of it, but Erykah Badu has a short film on her Instagram page right now, and we’re kind of hoping new music’s to follow. Titled, PLANTING DAY, the four-part documentary of sorts was shot, edited and directed by Badu using her iPhone (what would we be without technology?). As Okayplayer‘s pointed out, the film is backed by an ethereal mashup of Sun Ra and BADBADNOTGOOD, which is actually pretty groovy.

Watch PLANTING DAY below.
