It’s official: Barbie is back.

In her interview with Zane Lowe on Thursday, media mogul Nicki Minaj rolled through to introduce her two newest singles, “Chun Li” and “Barbie Tingz.” While we still don’t have a name yet for her upcoming album, the Queens, N.Y. native had lots to share and clarify. From her latest endeavors, her relationship with Meek, and her rumored drama with Cardi B, check out all of the topics discussed on what fans crowned #NickiDay.

1. She has a new album AND documentary in the works.

Throughout the entire interview, the Harajuku Barbie refers to her new documentary, which will be an Apple Music exclusive. No word on a release date, but we can expect it will drop whenever the album does. She’s calling her fourth studio album “the best album [she’s] ever worked on.”

2. She claimed the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef was the “hardest time of her career.”

When asked about her former fiancé Meek Mill and longtime friend Drake’s rap beef from 2015, the songstress labeled it as one of the “hardest times of her career.” While she publicly stayed silent and didn’t pick a side when it came to the entire ordeal, she felt “so imprisoned at that moment.” She said both Meek and Drake have moved on, but when she spoke to the 6 god directly afterward, she said they had a heart-to-heart.

“He told me afterward, ‘I wasn’t worried about anything in that entire situation, I was worried ‘what if Nicki takes a shot at me? What do I do? It would have been so painful,’” she explained.

3. “Chun Li” was just mixed and mastered the day before its release.

“Chun Li” was put together very quickly — and recently. “I heard the beat at 3 or 4 am, I hadn’t slept for days, and my producer played me the track,” she said. “I went in the booth five minutes after hearing the beat. It was freestyled. We mixed and mastered it officially yesterday.”

4. She claims “Barbie Tingz” is NOT about Cardi.

When Zane brought up the fact that rumors were flying that her second track contained a diss against Cardi B, Nicki quickly shut that down. She claims she wrote the song a year and a half ago in Paris.

5. But she says she is still hurt by Cardi’s comments about “MotorSport.”

When delving further into her emotions on Cardi, she says that she’s proud of her and that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper has done everything she’s had to do to get where she is. However, she does note that since the “Motorsport” feature drama, there have been iffy feelings.

“The first interview she did after ‘Motorsport’ came out, it just really hurt me,” she said. “Because she just looked so aggravated and angry, and the only thing she kept saying was, ‘I didn’t hear that verse, she changed her verse.’ I was like, what? … With ‘Motorsport,’ I just felt ambushed.”

6. Many of the songs on her next album serve to empower women.

As Zane noted in the interview, this is a time when women are having a moment in regards to feminism and standing up for their rights. Nicki wholeheartedly agreed and said that would be a theme on many of the tracks on her next album.

“Hip-hop culture is the most imitated culture in the world,” she said. “Of course that always gives me a sense of responsibility to uplift women especially. Women are the most powerful today they are than ever.”

7. Lil Wayne hopped on the phone to share some kind words.

The show surprised Queen Barbz with a phone call from one of the people she’s always held nearest and dearest towards her — Lil Wayne. He jumped on to share some words of encouragement and acknowledgment.

“She changed the culture,” he said. “She made a lane and a way for women like her who wanted to follow her path.”

8.She addressed her stance on the Wayne vs. Birdman beef.

Birdman called in right after Lil Wayne, and it was all good all around. Nicki clarified that in the midst of the Birdman and Lil Wayne conflict, she didn’t want to get in the middle of messiness.

“When it’s a dispute with family, I don’t take sides,” she said.
