A suspect is in custody after shots were fired at Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana on Friday. According to CNN, at least three people were injured in the incident, including one student who suffered an ankle fracture.

The school was reportedly put on lockdown after reports of an active shooter around 9:30 a.m. EST. Around 10 a.m. EST, RTV6’s Michael Hartz shared a video showing students being escorted from the building and loaded onto buses.

The shooting comes just a week after 10 people were killed at Sante Fe High School. So far, there have been at least 23 schools shootings resulting in death or injury this year, averaging to more than one shooting per week, CNN notes.

Gov. Eric Holcomb stated via Twitter that he is monitoring the shooting. “Our thoughts are with all those affected by this horrible situation,” he added.
