On Sunday, June 11, 2017, the 60th National Puerto Rican Day Parade will proudly march down 5th Avenue in all of its bomba y plena glory. Unfortunately due to the controversial inclusion of Puerto Rican nationalist and ex-FALN leader, Oscar López Rivera, this year’s parade will have significantly fewer sponsors and participants.
Team CASSIUS is taking it back to show you the history of where the parade started, the ebbs and flows of its development throughout history, and the impact that it continues to have on the Nuyorican community.
