Got Something to Say, CASSIUS’ four-part video series examining Black LGBTQ+ life in Atlanta, continues with “Episode 4: Fighting For Impactful Change.”

On this episode, host and narrator Darnell L. Moore talks with activists and change makers about the strides made for LGBTQ+ rights in Atlanta throughout the city’s impactful history. Trans activist Dee Dee Ngozi Chamblee, Executive Director and Founder of La Gender Inc., notes getting the police to adopt trans and gender non-conforming SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) was a huge win for the community. But just as important, the episode reminds us that there’s still much more work to be done to make sure that all experience freedom. Holiday Simmons, a two-spirit trans masculine activist, educator and healer, addresses the class divides that still affected the Black LGBTQ+ community.
