On Wednesday (July 11), NewsOne reported ex-UCLA star Billy Knight apparently committed suicide.

“I isolated myself from my family members. I isolated myself from my friends, and that’s not something you should do,” the former basketball player said in a recorded YouTube video. “If this happens, you probably have a mental illness. Mental illness is serious. I hear voices in my head constantly, and I don’t know where they come from. I just asked God for forgiveness for all the wrong I’ve done.”

“This is probably my last message on Earth,” Knight added.

Now reports say he sexually abused a 9-year-old girl before his death.

Knight was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona on June 13 and “charged with 6 felonies for sexual encounters involving a girl under the age of 15,” TMZ reported.  The abuse was at the victim’s home and on her mother’s bed, according to court documents. Knight was facing more than 50 years in prison if convicted.

“Knight posted his $100,000 bail and was released from custody in June — but ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device.  However, the victim’s mother told cops Knight violated the terms of his release by contacting her several times and even appearing at her home,” TMZ also reported.

Knight played for the Bruins from 1997 to 2002, averaging eight points and two rebounds per game. He never made it to the NBA but played for France and Japan after college.

Knight’s family have not responded to the latest allegations. We will keep you posted as more information surfaces.
