We know this is the most financially stressful time of the year. In December you’re spending all your bread on gifts for the fam and friends, and suddenly your bank account is in shambles. So naturally one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get your finances on track and of course, Dustin the (kinda-sorta) money expert has you covered. I mean, his clear frames make him look pretty damn smart.
And it all starts with record keeping—especially if you’re a freelancer without a traditional 9-5 job. Knowing where everything goes down to the penny and hoarding all your receipts will make it easier to Uncle Sam once dreadful tax season arrives. Oh, and start handling all your tax documents as soon as January hits so you’re not running around in April or begging for an extension.
An even simpler tip is to just ask your friends and family around you. If you’re the friend who doesn’t know how to make money stretch, there’s likely someone in your circle who still has the first dollar they ever made. Ask them who they bank with, how they operate within their bank accounts, which apps they use to keep them in line. They’ll probably share the wealth and before you know it you’ll have someone to hold you accountable.
As Dustin says, “New year, New green.”
P.S. Don’t ask us where we got the money counter from either…
