21 Savage’s Has Issued a Statement.
According to 21’s attorney, Charles H. Kuck, the rapper did indeed overstay his visa, but he also allegedly applied for a renewal in 2017.
“The Department of Homeland Security has known his address and his history since his filing for the U Visa in 2017, yet they took no action against him until this past weekend,” Kuck stated, according to reports from The Blast and TMZ.
“As a minor, [21]’s family overstayed their work visas, and he, like almost two million other children, was left without legal status through no fault of his own. This is a civil law violation, and the continued detention of Mr. Abraham-Joseph serves no other purpose than to unnecessarily punish him and try to intimidate him into giving up his right to fight to remain in the United States.”
The Super Bowl Ratings Were the Lowest They’ve Been in 10 Years.
CBS Sports reports that Super Bowl LIII was viewed by 100.7 million on Sunday. That number may seem like a lot, but it’s actually a historic low for the annual American sports event, which brought in 98.7 million viewers in 2009.
“Without CBS’s sleight of bundled hand, last night’s game is down just over 5% in total audience from last year’s Super Bowl on NBC,” Deadline‘s Dominic Patten writes. “Compared to the last time the net had the big NFL game in 2016, the sewn together number of 2019 Super Bowl took a tumble of 12%.”
