Kendrick, Drake, & Childish Gambino All Declined to Perform at the 2019 Grammys.
According to a show producer, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Childish Gambino all passed on an invite to perform during Sunday’s Grammys.
“The fact of the matter is, we continue to have a problem in the hip-hop world,” Ken Ehrlich told the New York Times. “When they don’t take home the big prize, the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continues to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad.”

Gucci Has Apologized for Its Racist Blackface Sweater.
Why they thought the sweater (pictured below) was a good idea in the first place is beyond us, but it looks like Gucci is “deeply apologizing” for the blackface-reminiscent ski garment, which—of course—sent social media into an uproar.
“We consider diversity to be a fundamental value to be fully upheld, respected, and at the forefront of every decision we make,” Gucci said in the statement. “We are fully committed to increasing diversity throughout our organization and turning this incident into a powerful learning moment for the Gucci team and beyond.”

The FBI is Working with the Empire Crew.
TMZ reports that the Empire crew is working with the FBI to find out who sent Jussie Smollett a “hateful, threatening” letter days before his attack. They’re also reportedly working to prevent further threats and other dangerous items from reaching the cast.
“Sources on set tell us a private security company was hired by the show and met with FBI agents to establish a protocol for inspecting all incoming mail,” TMZ shares. “We’re told the team wears gloves so the evidence in question is not contaminated.”
TMZ also reports that Smollett has received two new hateful pieces of mail since his attack, which contained “homophobic and racist epithets” and an image of a noose.
