Eminem Has Been Sober for 11 Years.

The rapper celebrated with a social media post on Saturday, writing in the caption, “11 years – still not afraid.” The post shared a photo of a medallion he received to celebrate his sobriety, which is stamped with the Roman numeral XI.

You may recall that Em almost lost his life after an accidental overdose back in 2007.

“When I got out of rehab, I needed to lose weight, but I also needed to figure out a way to function sober,” Em shared with Men’s Journal in 2015. “Unless I was blitzed out of my mind, I had trouble sleeping. So I started running. It gave me a natural endorphin high, but it also helped me sleep, so it was perfect.”

Em also highlighted his 10-year sobriety anniversary last year.
