John Legend Is Supporting the Hollywood Boycott over Restrictive State Abortion Laws.

“It’s a conversation that needs to be had,” the singer recently stated.

“Particularly when these studios are hiring people and bringing people to the state and saying, ‘Come work with us here in this state,’ but if you get pregnant there you’re going to be treated like a second-class citizen,” he continued. “That’s a tough conversation to have with your staff. And so I think hopefully the pressure that the studios are putting on will help Georgia and other states see the error of their ways.”

And while he’s not sure if a boycott would work, one thing he does know is this: “money talks.”

Following Success with the Raptors, the NBA May Expand in Canada.

Could Canada be getting a second NBA team? Possibly, says reports. As The Source notes, according to the NBA, “Game 1 was the most-watched NBA game on Sportsnet, reaching 7.4 million Canadians — basically 20 percent of the nation’s population. The average size of the Canadian audience was 3.3 million viewers and peaked in the final minutes of the game with 4.1 million Canadians tuning in to see the finish.”

And in an interview with Canadian news outlet CBC, NBA commissioner Adam Silver stated:

“I think that if we have Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee — viewed as a small market in the U.S., [yet] he happened to be the No. 1 vote-getter for fans globally for the All-Star Game this year — I think that makes the point that with digital media and social media these days you can be a huge global star regardless of where you are.”
