Entrepreneur and philanthropist Eli Broad once said:
“Charity is just writing checks and not being engaged. Philanthropy, to me, is being engaged, not only with your resources but getting people and yourself really involved and doing things that haven’t been done before.”
By Eli’s definition, Jaden Smith certainly filled his philanthropic duties by providing the homeless in Los Angeles with free vegan food.
Smith, who is well-known for his generosity and giving spirit, continued the activism that has become a hallmark in his young career by giving back to those who need it the most. He went to IG to unveil his brand new I Love You vegan food truck.
“The @ILoveYouRestaurant Is A Movement That Is All About Giving People What They Deserve, Healthy, Vegan Food For Free,” Smith wrote in the caption of a video showing people lined up to receive the bags of food. “Today We Launched Our First One Day Food Truck Pop-Up in Downtown LA. Keep A Look Out Because This Is The First Of Many.”
His Instagram post, which gained just over 13,000 comments, was filled with celebrities showing gratitude and commending him for his benevolent efforts.
He also made a second post in regards to the vegan food truck that serves free food.
Jaden, the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, is not new to making the world a better place. He previously the provided people of Flint, Michigan with clean water. Seeing people who have “made it” give back to people who are not quite as fortunate has to warm your heart a bit.
Keep an eye out for more philanthropic efforts from the 21-year-old star.
