1. Shaboozey

Shaboozey took his Met Gala debut seriously by ditching the traditional suit for a cropped suit jacket and flowing pants. Beneath was a black tank top draped in turquoise beads, which, of course, matched his iced-out grill.
2. Future

If you’re the most talked about celebrity at the Met Gala, chances are you’ve been the butt of most of the jokes that night, and that belonged to Future this year. His slightly glittery plaid set wasn’t the focus, but rather his signature dreads clipped down to a small blonde afro wasn’t expected. So, naturally, the jokes commenced.
3. André 3000

André 3000 rarely pops out, so he had to go big. Like, massive-instrument-on-his-back big. The Atlanta legend had a grand piano strapped to his back while he walked the carpet and even dropped a surprise EP, 7 piano sketches, just moments before he arrived.
4. Damson Idris

The award for most dramatic entrance goes to Damson Idris. The British actor arrived with work on his mind, rocking a Tommy Hilfiger racing suit and helmet while promoting his new film after hopping out of a Tommy Hilfiger-branded race car, of course. While standing in the middle of the carpet, he had the racing suit ripped off to reveal a three-piece red suit, designed by you guessed it, Tommy Hilfiger.
5. Chance the Rapper

Sure, Chance the Rapper earned some style cred by showing up with Donatella Versace and rocking the Italian fashion house for the night. The Chicago rapper wore an oversized tan suit, but the studded leather coat beneath was the fit’s true standout.
6. Swizz Beatz

Since we were celebrating Black style, it was only a matter of time before a durag popped up, and the honor belonged to Swizz Beatz. Matching with his wife Alicia Keys, he wore a deep red and black pinstriped suit and a loosely tied durag sat atop his head and blacked-out shades.
7. Jon Batiste

Golden Globe winner Jon Batiste didn’t stray too far from his award show red carpet fundamentals. He opted for an all-black suit, save for his jacket’s white polka dots and a white feathered broach. His most on-brand accessory, though, was his trumpet, which he played while climbing the steps.
8. Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry is no stranger to perfectly tailored suits, so he donned one for the Met Gala but stepped it up with a striking white, bejeweled jacket. He tied the two looks together with a jewel sitting atop his white button-up.
9. Bad Bunny

Already riding a high after announcing his world tour, Bad Bunny wore a brown Prada suit with a shirt and tie in earth tones. His bedazzled gloves held a bowling bag, his second accessory after his straw hat, a reported nod to his Puerto Rican roots.
10. Pusha T

Pusha T loves a good snow reference for obvious reasons and even found a clever way to pull off pure white at the Met Gala. The Virginia Beach rapper wore a striped burgundy Louis Vuitton suit that was donned with crystals on his shoulders. Now all we need is a callback to the tailored fit on the upcoming Clipse album.
11. Dwyane Wade

Another couple who dressed in unity was Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. The Miami Heat legend wore black pants and a white tailcoat jacket but leveled things up with a patterned shirt beneath. He continued the toned-down look with a chunky leather Chelsea boot.
12. Jonathan Owens

Chicago Bear Jonathan Owens complemented his wife, superstar Simone Biles, but avoided the senior prom vibes. He rocked a white suit with tonal stitched detailing, fringed wide-leg pants, a walking stick, and a blue broach that matched Biles’ look.
13. Colman Domingo

The much-anticipated reveal of Colman Domingo’s look was a two-for-one. He arrived in an Andre Leon Talley-inspired blue cape, but soon flipped it off to reveal a three-piece custom Valentino zoot suit that managed to seem understated despite various-sized patterns.
14. Pharrell

As co-chair, Pharrell knew he had to go above and beyond, so he did. The musician wore a jacket covered in 15,000 pearls that took 400 hours to make. As men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton, you already knew he rep’d the home team.
15. Brian Tyree Henry

Tyree Henry opted for Nigerian label Orange Culture, dressing him in a burgundy suit which he paired with matching leather gloves, tie and calf high boots. He highlighted the tame look with a tonal patterned fabric draped over his shoulders.
16. Spike Lee

Spike Lee made up for not attending the Knicks’ game against the Boston Celtics by rocking a knickerbocker-themed hat to the Met Gala. He paired it with a blackout suit detailed with a rimowa crossbody and “Black Cat” Jordan 3s.
