Jorja Smith is celebrating her 28th birthday.

The English-born songstress has a lot to celebrate, having maintained success since first bursting onto the R&B scene in 2016 with her debut single, “Blue Lights.”

It gained the attention of big names like Drake, who told EW it was one of his favorite tracks at the time. She followed up the single with her first EP, Project 11, and went on Drake’s Boy Meets World Tour in February, and blew up even more with two guest spots on More Life.

From there, she went on to be an opening act for Bruno Mars, feature on the Black Panther soundtrack, and release her debut album Lost & Found, which received impressive reviews, including an 8.1 rating by Pitchfork. It earned her the Brits Critics’ Choice Award, the Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards, and was even nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys.

She’d return to music a couple of years later with her follow-up project, Falling or Flying, in 2023.

Lately, she’s been trending since her catchy feature on AJ Tracey’s “Crush.”

While also being one of the most solid R&B acts of the modern era, it wouldn’t hurt if she broke into the modeling world, thanks to her stunning looks, which have many men thirsting after her.

But for her, beauty is about more than the exterior.

“It’s being comfortable in your skin, and knowing that your imperfections make you perfect,” she told ELLE UK in 2019. “You have to realise that you’ve got flaws and they’re fine – they just make you who you are.”
