On their first meeting, many wondered if
Donald Trump and
Kamala Harris would shake hands, and they didn’t. Well, that was until a stubborn Trump stood at his podium, and Harris walked over to introduce herself, making for an awkward moment.

Trump took aim at Harris for changing some of her policies because things she stood for years ago have been updated. He insinuated that she was flying by the seat of her pants (much like him), so he offered to send her a MAGA hat.
After Birth Abortions
In the battle over abortion rights, one of the most ridiculous talking points that Republicans have repeated is that doctors are aborting babies after they’ve been born. Moderators told him no states have any policies like that. Still, he continued to bring it up despite previously saying he’d leave abortion rules to the states to make individual rules about term limits and possible exceptions.

There’s been a recent influx of nearly 20,000 Haitian immigrants into Springfield, Ohio, causing a strain on the local community. The City of Springfield and Clark County government officials are so overwhelmed with new people that they’re seeking help from the state and federal levels. Somehow, Republicans –including JD Vance– have turned the crisis into pushing a fake story saying that the immigrants are stealing native’s pets and eating them.

Jan.6 Regrets
When asked if he’d take responsibility for Jan. 6, he ducked and dodged the question with whataboutism concerning the protests in
Minneapolis amid George Floyd’s murder. Instead of owning up to his tweets, he said Nancy Pelosi didn’t do her job. He says he offered up 10,000 men from the National Guard or Army, as he expected a big crowd, but the request was denied.
Biden Hates Kamala
Trump brought up Biden’s stepping down for Harris to join the ticket. He added that the Democrats “threw him out of the campaign like a dog” and added that he hates her and “can’t stand her.” Huh?
Trump’s Loan From Father
Since we got to know Harris at the DNC, she’s leaned into growing up middle class, adding that her mother didn’t purchase their first home until Harris was a teenager. She remarks that, in comparison, Trump was gifted $400 million. Trump’s only response was not to give an exact number but to say it was “only a fraction of that.”
Debating When She Turned Black
Trump started a controversy at the
NABJ when he questioned the VP’s race over when she “turned” Black, and did the same at the debate. Commenting, “I don’t care what she is,” while Harris took the high road. She brought up his decades-long rap sheet of dangerous acts against people of color, like not renting apartments to Black people, condemning the Central Park 5, and being a major proponent in the birther movement against
President Obama.
