The reports that Tiger Woods is dating Vanessa Trump have proved true.
The five-time Masters winner took the news to his X account to make it official. He shared a photo of the newly minted couple smiling, and another of them cuddled up on a hammock while still asking the general public to grant them the right to navigate the new relationship behind closed doors.
“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts,” the accompanying message read.
It was about two weeks ago when social media began to catch on to the rumored new coupling thanks to a tip received by TMZ Sports, who added that the couple started seeing each other around Thanksgiving but did a lot of private dates at his Jupiter, Florida, home to avoid being spotted in public.
Wood’s Trump ties run deep. He was most recently seen at the White House during a Black History Month event and played golf alongside Trump during Super Bowl Sunday. Back in 2019, Trump also honored Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Vanessa is a Trump through marriage, having previously been with Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until their divorce in 2018. The two share five kids, including the eldest, Kai, who attends the same private high day school as Woods’ son, Charlie.
The 49-year-old has more than enough time to dedicate to his new relationship because he’ll be off the golf course for a while recovering from a ruptured Achilles.
In a message posted to his social media in earlier March, he revealed he suffered the injury during an at-home training session and is already recovering at home after undergoing surgery.
“This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida, performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon, the message read in part. “I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
