UPDATE: Tuesday Sept. 26 6:00 PM

After tons of speculation, Dwyane Wade will join old teammate and friend LeBron James in Cleveland on a one-year, $2.3 million deal.

A year at home in the Windy city was all Dwyane Wade needed.

Late Sunday (September 24) night, Wade agreed to a buyout with the Chicago Bulls where he’d leave about $8 million of his $23.8 million salary on the table. According to ESPN’s sources, the Cleveland Cavaliers is the clear favorite to land the 35-year-old All-Star, thanks to his former teammate LeBron James. Bron Bron tried to recruit Wade last summer, but the Cavs’ salary cap wouldn’t allow it. But after playing together for a few years—and winning two championships—the two stayed in touch. And now their dream of playing together again may actually come to fruition.

Aside from the Cavs, the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, and Oklahoma City Thunder are in the running for landing the Chicago native.

Wade spoke to the The Associated Press Sunday night, hinting that his next move may happen quickly.

“I’m going to take tonight and some of tomorrow and speak to the teams or players that are on my list and go from there,” Wade said. “My decision is a pure basketball decision, and I’ll make the one that fits me best at this point in my career and with what I feel I have to offer a team that needs what I have to offer.”

Now that he’s fulfilled his dream of playing for his hometown Bulls, he’s ready to get another ring—hopefully a third with LeBron.
