During the opening night of the Democratic National Convention, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez let it be known that she was not there to play around with the MAGA moron-in-chief Donald Trump. AOC didn’t waste time Monday night trying to be cordial with Trump or the Republican party that enables him to spread lies, bigotry and perpetual ignorance. Instead, the 34-year-old congresswoman from the Bronx came straight at Trump’s jugular as she noted the ridiculousness of the very idea that a supposed billionaire who came from wealth and largely worked for the wealthy during his presidency is somehow the ultimate man of the people. (Especially in the eyes of MAGA rubes who think the Golden Corral is fine dining.)
“We know Trump would sell this country for a dollar if it meant lining his own pockets and greasing palms of his Wall Street friends,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And I, for one, am tired of hearing about how a two-bit union buster thinks of himself as more of a patriot than the woman who fights every single day to lift working people out from under the boots of greed trampling on our way of life.”
“The truth is, Don, you cannot love this country if you only fight for the wealthy and big business,” she continued.
Ocasio-Cortez also drew a striking contrast between herself and the silver spoon buffoon painted orangey-maroon (bars) by noting that, unlike Trump, she actually does come from a working-class background.
“Six years ago, I was taking omelet orders as a waitress in New York City,” AOC said, noting that Vice President Kamala Harris, the democratic nominee for president, came from similar humble beginnings.
“To love this country is to fight for its people — all people, working people, everyday Americans like bartenders and factory workers and fast-food cashiers who punch a clock and are on their feet all day in some of the toughest jobs out there,” AOC said.
Hey, good luck to VP Kamala Harris in November, but also—AOC for president in 2028 or ’32 anyone?
