No Rookie Mistake: Paige Buecker Links With Fashion Icon Dapper Dan To Elevate Her WNBA Tunnel Fit

A byproduct of the WNBA finally getting its much-deserved time in the spotlight is that the ladies are stepping up their style game.
Much like any other professional sports league, the tunnel fits rocked on their way to the locker room need to create a vibe, and even 2025’s No. 1 draft pick, rookie Paige Buecker, knows it’s a must. So the newly minted member of the Dallas Wings linked up with legendary designer and Harlem native Dapper Dan to lace her with threads for her debut season.
It began with her inaugural look strolling through the Target Center for a game against the Minnesota Lynx where Bueckers donned a purple tracksuit with orange rust detailing and included Dap’s monogram logos printed on the front as an homage to his penchant for all-over logo prints.
The back of the tailored track jacket even features a can of Sherwin-Williams-branded lilac paint splashing over a globe with the text “Cover the earth.”
That isn’t just any shade of purple, though, it’s Sherwin-Williams’ Radiant Lilac SW 0074, which launched last year under Dap’s creative direction to flip its unpopular shade of the year —dubbed its loneliest color— into something powerful.
Dap took that same approach to getting the opportunity to work with Paige, telling High Snobiety, “It’s about celebration and empowerment. Women’s basketball deserves that spotlight, and I’m happy to see it shine!”
But before she even suited up in the Dap-provided gear, he wanted to make sure her fit reflected her personality.
“When designing Paige’s outfit, I was drawn to her confidence and elegance. I knew I had to create something that captured how special she is — as a voice in a new generation of women’s sports, elevating the game and embodying the kind of self-expression I’ve always stood for,” he told Highsnobiety.
Dap is happy to tell Bueckers ‘story through clothes, and the baller was intrigued by how he channels his passion.
“Dapper Dan is a pioneer and absolute legend in the fashion world,” Bueckers told GQ. “He’s one of the best tailors and has such a strong, unique point of view. Working with him was a cool experience because I got to meet him, see how much he loves what he does, and watch that passion come through in his designs.”
In her WNBA debut, Bueckers notched 12 points, 10 assists, and three steals as her team lost 85-81. But this is just the beginning of the season, so expect more wins and more elite tunnel fits from the rookie.
