Venus and Serena Williams Will Debut New Podcast on X

The Williams sisters will be taking their talents to X with a podcast, it was announced this week. Venus and Serena are one of the most successful sibling duos in sports. The sisters have won 30 Grand Slam singles titles between them, combined for 14 Grand Slams as doubles partners, and won three Olympic gold medals.
Along the way, they’ve become popular public figures, making their mark on fashion and pop culture. This new venture on X monetizes their appeal on the platform, where Serena has 10.2 million followers and Venus has 1.6 million.
“We’re so excited to be launching our new podcast, a place where we will share our personal stories, have authentic conversations, spotlight important topics, and laugh a lot,” Venus and Serena said in a joint statement. “This platform gives us the chance to engage directly with our fans who have supported us throughout our careers, and we’re excited to connect with audiences, old and new, in a way we’ve never done before.”
The podcast is expected to cover interviews with “visionaries, creators and rulebreakers passionate about shattering the status quo” and will showcase their “unbreakable bond.”
Serena, 43, is married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, with whom she shares two young daughters. Venus, 44, is the ultimate “rich auntie” rumored to be dating—and possibly engaged to—actor and producer Andrea Preti.
Serena officially retired from tennis in 2022 after the U.S. Open. She won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, falling one short of breaking the record set by Margaret Court. Venus has yet to retire, but has not played tennis this year. She joined the TNT tennis commentary crew last month.
“This decision wasn’t about stepping away from playing but about embracing a new way to contribute to the sport that’s shaped me. Tennis has given me so much, and now I have the chance to give back by telling its stories, celebrating its stars, and sharing its magic,” she said, per Yahoo.
She added, “Joining TNT’s team, alongside legends like Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Chris Evert, and others, is an honor.”
The Williams sisters are one of five daughters Richard Williams has with his ex-wife, Oracene Price. The fictionalized story of their ascent to fame was told in King Richard, starring Will Smith, who won an Oscar for the role. The bond between the tennis-playing duo is shown in the movie, and Serena has often talked about how important Venus has been in her life.
Serena’s Nine Two Six Productions will be the production company behind the podcast. Her husband launched his reality show The Offseason, through the X platform last year.
A slew of celebrities and other influencers left X once Elon Musk joined the federal government as a special employee and gutted multiple federal agencies, including USAID. Over 250,000 federal employees have left the government since the Trump administration was sworn in six months ago.
“Venus and Serena are among the most recognizable and revered athletes in the world, and their decision to team up with X places them at the center of our rapidly evolving original content strategy,” Mitchell Smith, head of original content at X, said in a statement.
The podcast is expected to launch in August.
