The highly anticipated film Mudbound has racked up much attention on the film circuit over the last couple of months, and the first trailer for the movie is now available to the public.
The film, directed by Dee Rees (of Pariah and Bessie fame), is the big screen adaptation of Hillary Jordan’s 2009 novel of the same name. Mudbound is set in the United States South post-World War II. It follows two families who often find themselves pitted against each other due to the societal standards of 1940s America—all while struggling to deal with the impact of the war on their lives both here and abroad.
Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton, Detroit), Garrett Hedlund (Friday Night Lights, Four Brothers), and Mary J. Blige are among the cast, and the film will be released on Netflix and in select theaters on November 17.
