In October of 2016, movie house A24 announced that it would be working on a new horror film that would feature Chance The Rapper. Fresh off the success of the Oscar-winning Moonlight, company’s news of a film collaboration with the rising Chicago rapper garnered immediate interest. The movie, titled Slice, will revolve around the mysterious murder (and apparent cover up) of a pizza delivery man, with the main suspects being a drug dealer and a werewolf.
A24 just released the first trailer for Slice, and while it doesn’t reveal much of the story, it does manage to instill a sense of ’80s horror film creepiness. Also starring Zazie Beets of Atlanta fame and Paul Scheer, the film is slated for release sometime in 2018. Austin Vesely has been tapped to direct the film, and his familiarity with Chance from working on several of his videos is sure to come into play.
