Netflix Has a New Hip-Hop Documentary on the Way, and It Features Nas.

Netflix has announced that it has a new hip-hop documentary coming soon. Titled Rapture, the eight-episode series features Nas, Logic and Rapsody, among others, and will bring viewers deep into the artists’ experiences. It was produced by Mass Appeal.

“Way back, when Hip Hop culture was in its gestational phase, the powerful message therein didn’t go much further than the five boroughs of New York City,” hip-hop filmmaker Sacha Jenkins said in a press release. “Today, rap music is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and Netflix is the embodiment of the eyes from which she sees. It is a great honor for Mass Appeal to work with Netflix to produce our new series Rapture. We’ve been telling Hip Hop stories since ’96, and as natives we feel it is our duty to do the movement justice.”

Catch Rapture when it premieres on March 30.

Critics Are Calling One of Lakeith Stanfield’s  Latest Films the Next Get Out.

We won’t share too many details, but Lakeith Stanfield told us about his role in Sorry to Bother You when he visited CASSIUS back in September (he was amused by our name since his character goes by Cassius “Cash” Green), and the film sounds amazing. CNET’s calling the movie—which also stars Tessa Thompson—a “searing” Sundance success story. Read more about the film you definitely don’t want to miss here.
