Rapper Rich Homie Quan has been officially charged with felony weed possession in the state of Georgia, according to TMZ. Born Dequantes Lamar, Quan was arrested this past weekend after stopping at a police checkpoint on his way to an appearance. Per sources, authorities detained him and four of his friends under suspicion of possession of a stolen gun and drugs, cited in reports as ecstasy and weed.

Quan is being held in jail until his bail hearing on Friday, June 2. He’s been charged with possession with intent to distribute, which is a felony in Georgia no matter the amount found. If convicted, the 27-year-old rapper could face up to 30 years in prison.

Quan recently signed a new partnership deal with Capitol Records, and was primed to make a career comeback. We will continue to update this developing story.
