Rihanna Files Suit Against Her Father

Riri is getting caught up in legal drama with her own family.

Rihanna is taking her father to court for trying to launch a business endeavor using the Fenty name. While the two share the last name, the patriarchy has attempted to launch multiple businesses using the name including a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment, which is illegal since Rih has “Fenty” trademarked.

TMZ reports that “her father and a business partner falsely advertised themselves as her reps to solicit millions of dollars,” which included trying to book Rihanna 15 shows in Latin America for $15 million without her consent. She’s sent multiple cease and desist letters to her dad, “ordering him to stop capitalizing off her Fenty trademarks,” but he keeps on going.

New York Governor Cuomo Wants to Move Forward With Legalizing Sports Betting

In Tuesday’s State of the State address, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed that he’ll be trying to get sports betting up and running in the state. Cuomo said that an investment in upstate casinos saw a nice return on investment. Since the casinos are already in place, Cuomo wants to build on that by legalizing sports betting within those places.

“We invested in upstate casinos,” he said. “Let’s authorize sports betting in upstate casinos. It’s here, it’s a reality, and it will help generate activity in those casinos.”
