BET Has Apologized to Nicki Minaj Following the Cardi B Social Media Controversy.
“BET loves Nicki Minaj,” a statement from the network and shared by TMZ reads. “We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.”
The statement goes on to say that “unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.”
ICYMI, a tweet sent out from BET’s Twitter account alluded to Nicki “being dragged by her lacefront” during Cardi’s big Grammy win. Shortly after, Nicki tweeted that she and Young Money would no longer be a part of the BET experience or the award show.
No One Cares About the Grammys Anymore.
While there was a small increase in viewership among adults 18-49 from last year, the 2019 Grammys still only earned a 5.6 rating among that same group and 19.9 million total viewers.
“That is compared to a 5.9 rating and 19.8 million viewers the awards show drew last year, which was the lowest key demo rating the show had ever drawn at that time,” Variety reports.

Soulja Boy Is Removing His Gucci Forehead Tattoo.
Following Gucci’s blackface sweater debacle, Soulja Boy says he’s removing his Gucci tattoo from his forehead.
“Gucci’s done,” Soulja recently told a TMZ staffer before being ask if he’d be getting rid of his Gucci wardrobe as well. “Nah, we ain’t gon’ return it…I’ll just give it to charity.”
And if you think he’s joking about removing his tattoo, he’s not. According to him, he has two more procedures left before the deed is done.
“I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, over the last ten years on the brand,” he said. “So it’s like, I feel disrespected for them to even portray my culture like that.”
