This summer, we should be prepared for the hottest in new music. CASSIUS is here to make sure you don’t miss a beat.

It’s official, the vocals have come in. DJ Khaled’s album Grateful has finally hit the streets. Vince Staples’ Big Fish Theory is available. New singles from Drake and DVSN are making waves. A remix from Goldlink is live. And a new face with a familiar feature is here. Check out this week’s #NewFindsFriday below.

The highly anticipated album from the “ever-blessed” producer has finally arrived. Aside from having the youngest Executive Producer tied to the project, Khaled’s young son, Asahd, the project features some of the industry’s biggest names. “Wild Thoughts” features Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, “Shining” features JAY-Z and Beyoncé, and the Platinum-selling “I’m The One,” features Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne. Travis Scott, Migos, Future, Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, Alicia Keys and more appear on the album.

DVSN – Don’t Choose

OVO Sound continues to make their imprint this Summer, with new releases from Drake, PartyNextDoor, and Majid Jordan. It’s time for R&B collective DVSN to add their contribution to the fold. Consisting of vocalist Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85, the duo have brought memories of classic R&B back to the current musical landscape, and “Don’t Choose” is no exception.

Goldlink featuring Brent Faiyaz, Shy Glizzy, and Gucci Mane – Crew (Remix)

Goldlink’s At What Cost album was regarded as one of the best projects to drop this past Spring, maybe even one of the best of 2017, and he doesn’t waste time in releasing new material. Tapping on the Trap God himself in Gucci Mane, Goldlink repackaged his smash single “Crew” for the Summer season. Gucci’s flow fits perfectly on the record and let’s hope for more collaborations to come down the line.

With the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer ’18 collection as the backdrop, Drake made his claim for “Song of the Summer” with “Signs.” Produced by fellow OVO member Noah “40” Shebib, the record falls in line with the sounds that Toronto star has been delving into recently. Check out the record below at the 3:30 mark.

Vince Staples – Big Fish Theory

When he isn’t trolling reporters on “things Black people say to white people,” or living as a Ray-J supporter, Vince Staples has emerged as one of the best rappers this side of Poppy Street. The Long Beach native aims to follow up his freshman debut in Summertime ’06, and according to ScHoolboy Q, he’s done just that.

Featuring the singles “Bag Bak” and “Rain Come Down” with Ty Dollar $ign, and contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Kilo Kish, A$AP Rocky, and more, Big Fish Theory does more than follow up on previous projects, he shows just how far he can go.

Kintaro featuring Anderson.Paak – “Mk”

Be aware of the grooves coming from an artist by the name of KinTaRO—a new face that’s actually very familiar. But if the soulful sounds feel like something you’ve heard before, it’s because you have. KinTaRO, born Jameel Bruner, is the former keyboardist for the band The Internet, and also is the brother of the recently #NewFindsFriday-featured Thundercat, and the musical prowess definitely shines through on “Mk.” Featuring a CASSIUS favorite in Anderson.Paak, “Mk” offers a fun, smooth sound that you’re sure to hear at your next rooftop function sometime soon. With a new project titled Universal EP, we’re looking forward to hear more from the talented musician in the future.
