After months of anticipation, adidas is debuting its groundbreaking FUTURECRAFT 4D technology. The FUTURECRAFT 4D sneaker is the world’s first high-performance running shoe featuring midsoles made with light and oxygen using Digital Light Synthesis.

The FUTURECRAFT design initiative was developed to push the envelope on sportswear, incorporating new technology and innovative design to develop next-level performance footwear for athletes.

Informed by the brand’s extensive library of athletic running data, the FUTURECRAFT 4D midsole shoe uses Digital Light Synthesis technology to address performance needs including propulsion, cushioning, stability and comfort. The innovative midsole is comprised of over 20,000 struts that can be individually turned to assist energy control while providing enhanced breathability underfoot. A sock-like, Primeknit upper with added ventilation zones, continental outsoles provide unprecedented grip.

While the public first got a sneak peek at the FUTURECRAFT 4D in April, the FUTURECRAFT 4D will finally be available for purchase tomorrow, January 18 in New York City, as an homage to the city in which the brand partnership with design house CARBON was first announced. The FUTURECRAFT 4D will be sold at Consortium retailers including KITH, Packer, and SNS.
