Celebrities have reared their ugliest of heads in the weeks leading up to the election, and now one of the NFL’s best running backs is strapping that red MAGA atop his head.
By now, we know that even football players can be manhandled by cops –like Tyreek Hill, who was yanked out of his McLaren just steps away from Miami’s stadium– but former player Le’Veon Bell thinks his association with Republicans got him out of a ticket.
The former Pittsburgh Steeler took to social media to explain a recent encounter with the police, during which he appeared to cooperate and offer over his information.
“I got pulled over .. cop asks for my license & registration, & while i’m in process of getting everything for him .. he then says ‘I love your hat man,'” reads the beginning of the tweet.
Noting the cop’s affinity for Trump, Bell continued, “Immediately I say ‘OF COURSE, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN SIR.’ he hands me back my things and says ‘have a great day Mr. Bell'”
In a follow-up, he explained that he was pulled over for going just 8 miles above the speed limit, which he felt was overboard, but “he TRUMP 2024, so we’re all good!!!”
He continued with his support, aiding in Trump’s reelection because he, the cop, and other MAGA supporters are “moving one step closer to MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
Bell continued to spew his Trump allegiance by responding to an article that claims Black and Latino support for the former president is at a record high by posting a picture of himself donning the infamous red hat.
Bell being MAGA is nothing new. In fact, he—alongside Antonio Brown—attended Trump’s Pennslyvania rally over the weekend and was unexpectedly invited on stage to speak.
Brown referred to Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz as “Tampon Tim” and even said, “He isn’t a real coach.”
After the experience, Bell went to social media to gush about it, recounting how much of “a real one” Trump is and how they went to the Steelers vs. New York Jets game later that day.
Social media isn’t as hyped as Bell is about the endorsement; see the reactions below.
