Three-time Super Bowl champ Patrick Mahomes is one of the most accomplished football players. Though he gets a lot of attention, he also keeps many of his opinions to himself.
Sure, we know that he puts ketchup on his macaroni and cheese and has
special gameday underwear, but he keeps his mouth shut when it comes to controversial topics.
Recently, he was asked about
Donald Trump taking a liking to his wife, Brittany, because she appears to be a Trump supporter. He stuck to his guns, refusing to endorse either candidate and just wanting people to get out to the polls in November.

“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes said. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family.”
He added that respecting other people’s points of view is essential because everyone comes from different walks of life, no matter how much sports unites them.
“You’ve seen my history. I’ve come up with people from every aspect of life, from every background, and the best thing about football locker rooms and kind of how I’ve grown up in baseball locker rooms is people can come together and achieve something and achieve a common goal,” he added. “We talked about it a while back. If we can do that as a nation, we can get the best out of each other, so that’s something I do every single day.”
It all began when
Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz after the
presidential debate where Donald Trump spoke about eating pets. Opposingly, Swift liked the democratic ticket’s stance on women’s rights.
During an appearance on
Fox and Friends, Trump was asked about it and quipped that Swift’s sales would fall, adding, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan.”
Mahomes’ decision not to publicly criticize his wife may be smart, but see how social media is reacting below.
