Boxer Floyd Mayweather took a break from making the rounds with Conor McGregor to pay his respects to Miosotis Familia, the slain New York Police Department (NYPD) officer who was fatally shot on July 5.

Mayweather traveled to the 46th Precinct and posed for a photo in front of a painting of Familia.

The mother of three was shot by Alexander Bonds, the gunman with a history of mental illness, while sitting inside a mobile police command vehicle in Fordham Heights. Officers chased Bonds and killed him.

Mayweather’s visit comes just a week after he was publicly lambasted for hurling a homophobic slur against McGregor.  “You punk, you f-ggot, you ho!” Mayweather said.

The face off got even more heated and took a racial turn when Mayweather began to shadowbox and McGregor said “Dance for me, boy.”

We’re still left wondering, was it a genuine visit or a PR move?

Either way the Champ’s honoring of the slain officer follows an overwhelmingly large funeral that led to nearly 25,000 fellow officers paying their respects.

Familia was posthumously promoted to detective.
