Award shows have been interesting over the past year.
In 2020, some were canceled or forced to be fully virtual because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But this year, with stay-at-home awards making new strides to keep the audiences interested, the Grammys may have gotten it right. The red carpet was safely socially distanced and noticeably less crowded. So there were no worries if you’d get to peep the most bizarre and fire outfits of the night that are sure to get roasted on Twitter.
To keep things lively, the Recording Academy hosted an intimate outdoor gathering across the street from the Staples Center where masked stars like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Meg Thee Stallion, H.E.R., Bad Bunny, and more set as their peers won awards and gave acceptance speeches. Black art was on heavy display with performances by the likes of Anderson .Paak, Meg Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Lil Baby, and Roddy Ricch— despite those same folks being robbed for some awards.
But we decided to focus on the best and worst fits of the night. Check out some of our picks below and let us which ones you were feeling and which should have been left on the store racks.
