4 Suspects Have Been Indicted in XXXTentacion’s Murder.
A grand jury indicted four men in the murder of XXXTentaction on Wednesday (July 18) after he was shot and killed in Florida last month. According to XXL, Michael Boatwright (22), Trayvon Newsome (20), Dedrick Williams (22) and Robert Allen (22) were all charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm. Boatwright and Williams are in custody, while Allen and Newsome are wanted by authorities.
The Miami Dolphins Are Cracking Down on Players Who Protest the National Anthem.
The Associated Press reports that Miami Dolphins players who protest on the field during the national anthem could be suspended for up to four games under the team’s new policy, which was issued this week.
“The ‘Proper Anthem Conduct’ section is just one sentence in a nine-page discipline document provided to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the policy who insisted on anonymity because the document is not public,” ABC News says. “It classifies anthem protests under a large list of ‘conduct detrimental to the club,’ all of which could lead to a paid or unpaid suspension, a fine or both.”

Queen & Slim is Waithe and Melina Matsoukas’ latest scripted work, which tells the Black love story of a couple who kills a cop in self defense before going on the run.

Matsoukas added, “It’s a film that defines Black love as a revolutionary act. It shows that our union is the greatest weapon against the assault on Black people in America.”

Zazie Beetz Is in Talks to Join Todd Phillips’ Joker Movie.
She’ll join Joaquin Phoenix, who is playing the Joker “in a film that is more moderately budgeted and darker than the studio’s other DC-based movies,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “The project is also described as more of a dark character study than a crime thriller, with Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy as the tonal watchwords,” they continue.
Joker will reportedly begin shooting in September.
