The Black Panther Sequel Is Happening.

Between executive producing Space Jam 2 and working on the followup to Creed, Ryan Coogler’s on a roll. And if that weren’t enough to be excited about, The Hollywood Reporter’s announced that he’ll be writing and directing the Black Panther sequel we’ve all been waiting for since February.

“While the move was expected — Marvel wanted to keep the creative team as intact as possible and a sequel was never in any real doubt — the timing was always unclear,” THR shares. Production will likely start in late 2019 or early 2020, with Coogler starting the script next year.

Why The Office Can’t Come Back. 😔😔😔

Team CASSIUS is very much #TeamOffice (we talk about having our own spinoff all the time). But even as fans, we also realize that Michael Scott probably wouldn’t register well in today’s social climate. Steve Carell agrees.

“Because The Office is on Netflix and replaying, a lot more people have seen it recently,” he recently told Esquire. “And I think because of that there’s been a resurgence in interest in the show, and talk about bringing it back. But apart from the fact that I just don’t think that’s a good idea, it might be impossible to do that show today and have people accept it the way it was accepted 10 years ago. The climate’s different.”

He continued, “I mean, he’s certainly not a model boss. A lot of what is depicted on that show is completely wrong-minded. That’s the point, you know? But I just don’t know how that would fly now. There’s a very high awareness of offensive things today—which is good, for sure. But at the same time, when you take a character like that too literally, it doesn’t really work.”

The Week’s Biggest Sneaker Releases.

While you’re at Esquire, be sure to check out their list of the week’s best sneaker releases.

“This might not be the biggest week for sneaker releases in recent memory,” they tweeted Friday, “but that might just be a good thing.”

We’ve got our eyes on those new Adidas.
