A Vigil Was Held at Fruitvale Station on the 10-Year Anniversary of Oscar Grant’s Murder.
On Tuesday, which marked the 10th anniversary of Oscar Grant’s murder, the Oakland community gathered to honor his life and continue to push for law enforcement accountability.
“He was not the first young man to be killed at the hands of the police, but through his death, I believe it woke up America and then it later formed Black Lives Matter,” said Grant’s mother, Wanda Johnson, who organized the event with the Oscar Grant Foundation. “We have to hold those accountable for their actions, and the only way they can be held accountable is if we bring it to the forefront.”

Serena Williams and Roger Federer both won their singles matches before going against each other at the Hopman Cup on Tuesday in Australia. And after their doubles match face-off, she called Federer the “greatest of all time.”
“It was a great experience. I’m kind of sad it’s over — I was just warming up!” Williams said following the game according to The Washington Post. “Honestly, it was so fun.
“We grew up together, and so having an opportunity after all of these years to play each other — we’ve actually never done this,” she continued. “It’s super cool that we actually get to do this, at this pinnacle of both of our careers.”
Tiffany Haddish Has Addressed Her New Year’s Eve Show.
Tiffany Haddish had a rough show in Miami on New Year’s Eve, during which she reportedly forgot her lines. After disappointed fans began tweeting about it, Haddish took to Twitter to address what happened at the show.
“Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami,” she tweeted on Tuesday. “I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again.”
While many fans grabbed their things and left in the middle of the show, a few still ended up having a good time when she decided to drink some Ciroc with those who stayed.
We’d still say this was a pretty good way to bring in the New Year.
