After getting blown out in Super Bowl LIX by the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes week just worsened.

His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was spotted on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where the Super Bowl took place, and found himself in another unsavory situation.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Mahomes Sr is seen outside a bar chatting with two men when John Rocker, who was also an MLB pitcher in the 1990s, approaches him.

“Pat, what’s up, dude?” Rocker appears to say to Mahomes before extending his arm for a handshake. That’s when things heated as Mahomes snatched his hand back. They both started to get angrier and mouth off, which led to them being held back from each other to de-escalate the confrontation.

Eventually, his friends push Mahomes away, and Rocker tosses his drink on the ground in his direction.

Mahomes later tweeted, “John Rocker is a menace to society.”

After the video of the altercation hit social media, Rocker responded with, “This fucking loser can’t take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bullshit weekend even more.”

Although both are former baseball pitchers, their similarities don’t end there. The two may soon face off in a boxing match, which Barstool Sports‘ Dave Portnoy teased days ago.

“I believe we have a signed agreement from Mahomes Sr to fight John Rocker in Rough N’ Rowdy,” Portnoy said. “It was brought to my attention if I’d be interested in this fight, and I said ‘absolutely.’ I think it is 100%, but I haven’t seen the signed paperwork yet.”

Rocker’s short MLB career lasted from 1998 to 2003. He played for the Atlanta Braves most of that time and then had stints with the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

But what Rocker’s most known for is his attitude, which stemmed from an interview he gave in 1999 disparaging New York’s immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and HIV community. In the interview, he mocked Asian women, called his teammate a fat monkey, and was later placed in sensitivity training.

In 2007, he was also rounded up in an Alabama-based steroid ring and later admitted to using HGH after initially denying it.
