Cam Ward’s 6-Part Football Docuseries Headed To Tubi

The NFL season is just around the corner, so what better time to get to know the 2025 NFL draft’s top pick?
The Tennessee Titans selected quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick earlier this year, and now his journey will be the subject of a new Tubi docuseries.
It was first reported that Firebrand Media Group was producing a documentary on Ward back in November, before the draft, and was supposed to feature a new athlete for each of the nine episodes. However, they’ve now decided to break it down into a six-part series, focusing solely on him.
After all, his story is pretty inspiring, going from a high school kid with only one offer to eventually becoming a leading candidate to win the Heisman Award.
Playing up his surprising rise in the football world and his zero-star recruit status out of high school, the series will be dubbed Zero Star: The Cam Ward Story and tell the tale of his determination to succeed without anyone watching him.
“Cam’s journey isn’t just about football — it’s about heart, belief, and the power of second chances,” said director and Firebrand partner Alec Roth in a press release. “This series gives viewers an unfiltered look at a young man who was told ‘no’ at every stage yet refused to quit. From backyard games in West Columbia to draft night glory, Cam’s story unfolds across six episodes filled with raw emotion, defining moments, and behind-the-scenes access. It’s a modern hero’s journey — and a blueprint for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked.”
Firebrand Media Group says that through the project, it gained “unprecedented access to Cam Ward’s life — on and off the field” and plans to tell the all encompassing “portrait of faith, family, and resilience in the face of constant rejection” through “never-before-seen archival footage, raw behind-the-scenes moments, and intimate interviews” with those closest to him including family, friends, coaches and teachers.
As for Ward, he’s ready to talk about going unnoticed and the hard work he accomplished to switch the doubtful narrative.
“Being overlooked — in my shoes, it was a blessing and a curse,” says Ward. “I overcame the curse by turning adversity into strength, and I have played with nothing to lose, which is a blessing. It means you bring it all and leave it all out there on the field and in life.”
Ward’s a Texas native who got his football —and basketball —start at Columbia High. He committed to the University of the Incarnate Word because it was the only offer he received, and after a delayed start to his freshman campaign because of COVID, he went on to win the Jerry Rice Award as the most outstanding freshman in the NCAA Division I-AA.
He then left for Washington state for a year, then declared for the 2024 draft only before ultimately opting to use his final year of eligibility to play for the Miami Hurricanes. With all the hopping around, he’s finally got a home in Tennessee, and his adjustment is well documented.
Ward’s docuseries will be available to stream on Tubi come September.
