Last summer, Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green was accused of assaulting a Michigan State Spartans football player at a bar in Lansing, Mich. The same day the alleged assault occurred, Green was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. However, the famed athlete took a plea deal the following week and the charge was reduced to a civil infraction. Green was only required to pay $500 in fines and court fees.

One year later, the alleged victim isn’t letting Green off the hook so easily. Jermaine Edmondson lawyered up and told his side of the story in a press conference on Tuesday, July 25. The Internet, of course, can’t stop watching. Alongside his girlfriend, who claims she’d been choked by one of Green’s friends during the assault, Edmondson insists the altercation changed his life forever.

“I think about what happened with Draymond every day,” he said. “I still feel his hand on my jaw.” Edmondson claims Green inflicted emotional damage as well. “There are nights when I wake up crying. I don’t understand why my name has turned into this joke and he gets all the credit for being a super star and standing up for women,” he told those in attendance.

Edmondson claims he was forced to quit the football team and left the university for some time because he did not feel safe at school. According to Edmondson, he’d been receiving threats from Green’s friends, the Golden State Warriors organization, and even students at his own university.
