The luxe basketball sneaker is back.

With basketball season around the corner, Jordan Brand just debuted the XXXII. Not only is the technology top-notch, but the design of the shoe is, too. The 32 draws inspiration from the second shoe in the Air Jordan lineage with its simple toebox design and added refinement along the ankle, heel and tongue. The Italian sophistication that inspired the II gets a 30-year update by way of Flyknit uppers and high tenacity yarns.

“We start with athlete insights at the heart of everything we do,” Jordan Brand VP of Design David Creech said in an announcement for the shoe. “We craft every detail from macro to micro, obsessing [over] fit, form, and function. Thirty years ago, they obsessed [over] those same details when designing the AJ II, which led to the premium materials and the innovative style of Italy. Our goal with the AJ XXXII was to combine the essence of the AJ II with today’s best innovation to create a distinct design language both on and off the court.”

Jordan Brand representative and NBA MVP Russell Westbrook—who’s also a known sneakerhead— has had some time to ball out in the XXXIIs and he’s feeling them.

“The Air Jordan game shoe line has always produced some of my favorite shoes,” The Brodie said in the same statement. “The XXXII is a great combination of performance and style. The way I play demands that I have the best performing sneaker on my feet and style is something that is ingrained in me as a person and player.”

The luxe upper mixed with the Nike Zoom air bag and Flight Plate make for a basketball sneaker that looks just as fly off the court as it does on it. The Air Jordan XXXII will launch globally in a mid and low version on September 23 and October 18, respectively.
