Deeply embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing multiple criminal charges and more than two dozen civil lawsuits regarding a myriad of sexual assault and abuse allegations, is going on the offensive for a change and has filed a lawsuit against a grand jury witness and a lawyer he claims have been spreading lies about him for media clout.

According to TMZ, the ‘All About the Benjamins’ artist and producer is suing Courtney Burgess– a man who appeared as a witness for the grand jury — and Ariel Mitchell, Burgess’ lawyer, both of whom are accused of spreading “outlandish claims” and “baseless speculation” to feed the public’s desire for “wild lies,” the suit says.

Among the specific offenses named in the complaint was Burgress’ alleged claim to be in possession of video footage that shows Diddy sexually assaulting celebrities and minors, which Diddy’s legal team claims doesn’t exist.

“In this pitiful spectacle, all pretense of objectivity has been abandoned, as a global audience feasts at the all-you-can-eat buffet of wild lies and conspiracy theories,” the suit, which seeks $50 million in damages, according to the New York Post. “Defendants are among the worst perpetrators in this offensive scenario. They eagerly court every opportunity to broadcast blatant falsehoods, pretending they have proof that Mr. Combs engaged in heinous acts, knowing that no such proof exists.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Erica Wolff, an attorney for the plaintiff (who’s normally a defendant), said, “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is taking a stand against the malicious falsehoods that have been fabricated and amplified by individuals seeking to profit at his expense.”

“These defendants have willfully fabricated and disseminated outrageous lies with reckless disregard for the truth,” Wolff continued. “Their falsehoods have poisoned public perception and contaminated the jury pool.  This complaint should serve as a warning that such intentional falsehoods, which undermine Mr. Combs’s right to a fair trial, will no longer be tolerated.”

The words “no longer” seem to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting there, because Diddy’s name, reputation and legacy have been as good as mud since the first lawsuit by Cassie made headlines and was settled out of court damn near before the ink was even dry on those headlines. But, again, this is the first time since his turmoil began that we’ve seen him in the plaintiff’s seat instead of the defendant’s. Now, we wait to see what a judge says.
