Charles Barkley Is Back to Trolling San Antonio Women With Fat-Shaming Jokes

Rivalries within the NCAA Championship didn’t end after the Florida Gators defeated the Houston Cougars; instead, they extended to one of the commentators.

Charles Barkley is known for his irreverent sports hot takes, and that includes his constant sparring with San Antonio—yes, the entire city.

This year, the final March Madness games took place in the southern city, and Barkley’s intrusive thoughts took over as he had to address the churro-eating women of San Antonio yet again.

The dig came while he was on stage at the Capital One JamFest Sunday night, confirming to the crowd, “San Antonio…..Yes, y’all do got some big ole b-tches.”

For those in on the ongoing joke, they cheered at Barkley’s ribbing, which has been making for over a decade.

The earliest recollection of Barkley making a fat-shaming joke about Texas women came back in 2010, during an NBA on TNT segment when he said, “There’s one thing about San Antonio, they ain’t got no skinny women down there.”

Then, in June 2013, he started pushing the “big ‘ole women down in San Antonio” narrative again, and the following year, he joked about the lingerie company, saying, “Victoria is a secret down in San Antonio.”

Even San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan‘s girlfriend got in on the joke when she once stood alongside a bunch of other women wearing “Barkley Don’t Know” shirts while wagging fingers at him.

“That woman ain’t from here, they flew her in from Dallas,” Barkley retorted.

The jokes were always off-color, but as they wore on, the network received complaints —plus an article in the local My San Antonio— and he was told to quit it by TNT bosses.

But he wouldn’t drop it quietly, and appeared on a radio show to complain about being unable to continue his bit.

“They won’t even let me talk about San Antonio anymore. They’re like, ‘Charles, we got one lady wrote an article.’ I didn’t call anybody PERSONALLY fat in San Antonio. I was just joking around. We’ve been having fun with this for probably 10, 15 years,” he said before ultimately blaming cancel culture. “The PC people are overboard right now. You can’t even have fun nowadays without these jack-sses trying to get you canceled and things like that.”
